SWENSON FAMILY HALL OF ENGINEERING
The Design/Create/Innovate Lab (DCI) is a makerspace that supports interdisciplinary learning among all Chapman University students, staff, and faculty.  Its mission is to ensure that the space and equipment are accessible for users of all backgrounds, including those outside engineering. Using her design skills to promote this mission, Grace creates workshops that appeal to different audiences and designs promotional material for those workshops. Her experience in this makerspace allows her to teach students and cultivate a culture of boundless creativity. Whether instructing skateboard workshops or crafting laser-cut coaster labs, Grace dedicates herself to guiding peers in their pursuits of new skills.

MANUFACTURING LAB
BRING DESIGN TO LIFE
Stepping into the makerspace, students begin with laser cutting, giving them a taste of subtractive manufacturing. Within this lab lies heavy duty machinery, including Universal Laser Cutters, CNC Mills, Waterjets, Tormach CNC Mills, a ShopBot CNC Router, and more.  There are several classes that make use of the Manufacturing Lab to teach students design and fabrication. Here, digital prototypes are brought to life and developed through an array of accessible materials.
