The Saratoga High School Benefit Commission dedicates itself throughout the year to curate an unforgettable Benefit Fashion Show, a philanthropic event channeling all proceeds towards esteemed charitable causes. Showcasing the talents of Saratoga High students, the event not only provides a platform for modeling but also welcomes participants to submit their original designs. Among the diverse categories featured in the show is the "Design Your Own," empowering students to fashion attire from materials of their choice.
In tribute to this show, I crafted distinct dresses over two consecutive years, each with a focus on raw materials into artistry. The first creation, a fully recyclable gown fashioned from repurposed newspapers and dissolvable string, epitomized sustainability and innovation. Following this, I embraced the challenge of designing a compostable dress, fashioning it from handpicked plants on the very day of the show. These endeavors underscore my dedication to merging creativity with conscientious design, contributing to the design category of the Benefit Fashion Show.
